Please read the below letter from Tom Gangemi if you would like to know more about our approach to Telehealth and how it can benefit you or your loved ones.

Hello!

I hope this letter finds you well and safe at home during this phase of the COVID19 pandemic. So much has changed and I want to share with you what we are doing to treat people while minimizing time out of the house. We have greatly reduced direct contact with people. What we have learned is that people who needed physical therapy still need physical therapy even with the limitations of personal contact. A solution: Physical therapy can be provided remotely via telehealth! Since much of what we do that benefits people is exercises and education, we can do that via a live streaming telehealth visit right in your home.

This is how it works:

We utilize a secure program to connect us with you via the internet. It is similar to Facetime or Skype but with layers of security to protect you and your information. We send you an invitation to join us live online. During our time, I can assess your movements, balance, and strength and provide you with education and training similar to what we do in person! You only need a wifi connection with a laptop computer, a tablet, or even just a smartphone!

I believe that you would both benefit from it and enjoy the interaction as well. Recently, Medicare rules changed and physical therapists can now provide and bill for telehealth services. They recognize that people need physical therapy and that therapists, patients, and families need to stay safe while we learn how to minimize our level of direct interaction with other people. Therapists have been able to treat via telehealth for many years, but up until a week ago, they could not be reimbursed by Medicare. That has changed now and we are excited to get back to treating our patients!

I will call you soon to discuss this treatment option with you. I hope you are adventurous and give it a try! Meanwhile, feel free to call me at 302-304-9729 if you have any questions. It will be good to “See You” on a telehealth therapy session!

Best Regards,

Tom Gangemi, PT
